What creates wellness for you is individual to you and it’s likely to be quite different to what it is for me. Well-being is a decision to value your health and wealth and to care for yourself. It is a mindset towards self-care, gratitude and healthier lifestyle.
It’s about a positive and supportive mindset and self-talk. Making decisions that grow you as a person instead of repeating actions and behaviours that keep you stuck in your comfort zone, create stress or resistance.
It is a requirement for action and motivation towards a better version of yourself mentally, physically, financially, emotionally and spiritually.
Wellness is the formation of good habits and eradication of less positive ones. It is about showing up even when you would rather not. It is an understanding of what causes you stress in life, and a proactive choice to manage or avoid those things altogether.
Wellness represents your relationship with yourself and others.
It is how you show up in the world. It is being mindful of your emotions and their impact on the choices and decisions you make and it is having reasonable expectations of yourself and others.
It is in your ability to let go and to find flow in life.
Being able to tap into your intuition and listen to the inbuilt guidance system you have. It is deep and full breaths, moments of silence to think and reflect, a good night’s rest and time out from social media, internet and technology.
It is having the courage to say no when you need or want to. It is the way you align your values and your actions, how you approach and face challenges and it is not being afraid to ask for help when you need it.
Wellness is a connection to a purpose, whether that is your own, someone else’s or something much bigger. It’s about finding and being a part of your tribe. It’s about having enough, and being grateful for the abundance already present in your life. It is about investing in yourself and the ones you love.
Wellness isn’t static. It is a choice to pursue a lifestyle of balance.
It is a balance between getting up early and sleeping in. Eating well and having take-out. Exercising and sipping red wine. Between fast and slow, logic and intuition, masculine and feminine, love and attachment, freedom and structure, theory and practice, needs and wants, ego and willpower and the past, present and the future. It is a balance between service to others and best serving yourself.
To me, wellness is about finding your balance…
Finding what works for you… and,
Doing more of that.
